I feel as though I have been given a second chance in my life’s pursuit of happiness by turning my life over to Jesus, and asking Him to take the reins of my heart, and then to change the course of my direction to be a better person to all walking in and out of my life.  Our lives can change in a moment of time.  Mine did many times.  Some were mountain top experiences, others weren’t so great;  I floundered around in the hallow sequestered by fear and unknowns, but kept my eyes upward on Jesus until I was able to crawl out of the valley. I will admit I learned in the valley, and I definitely felt I was given another chance to apply my “learnings” to my new change.  

A valley is a low-lying area of land between hills or mountains. Valleys can be formed by rivers, glaciers, or erosion.  My life felt as though it was formed by erosion of self, but Jesus is faithful; He can redeemed the self, and give it a second chance.  There is no selection of people ; His love reaches all. I think about Hager.  • Hagar is revered by Islam and acknowledged by Hebrew and Christian traditions 

• Hagar is the matriarch of multiple Arab tribes 
• Hagar gave us the term “El Roi”, which means “the God who sees” 
• Hagar’s story reminds us that God sees and cares about us, no matter who we are or where we are 

I am so glad God is a God of second chances- redemption of our souls is an example of His second chances.  We can come to Him with a repentant heart, and ask for forgiveness, and He wraps us in His love of second chances.   What a blessing He gives us.
