“Love says: I’ve seen the ugly parts of you and I’m staying.”
The phrase “I will never leave you nor forsake you” is a biblical promise found in several places in the Bible, including the Old and New Testaments. It is a message of God’s faithfulness and assurance of His presence and support for His people.
I only knew of one person in my long life that her husband never saw her unless she was fully made up and perfect. She was my cousin through a marriage of long ago. I thought that to be odd, and wondered if he would divorce her if she would just be herself. I think of Jesus and His love for us – He says “ I will never leave you or forsake you” several times in the Bible. I speak for myself of the many times I have come to him with “uglies” I have done or said. I ask forgiveness and, for him to make my crooked path straight. Love speaks volumes. God is love. Now, my husband loves me, but his love goes under the umbrella of “acceptance”, because I certainly do not appear perfect in anyway. He has seen the ugly part of me, and he is still around and is staying. lol. And, Jesus is too!
