Reading Scripture with the Holy Spirit brings God’s word to life. The Bible isn’t just a book of rules. It’s not just a list of do’s and don’ts. It’s meant to be read with the understanding that its words were inspired by the One who dwells within you. May your heart be stirred to meditate on God’s word that it might produce peace and joy in your life today.  (Greg Denison)

“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Following is lyrics to “There is a River” written by David Sapp when he was 17 years old:

1. There came a sound from Heaven like a rushing mighty wind,

It filled their hearts with singing, and gave them peace within.

The Prophet gave this promise, the Spirit will descend,

And from your inner being, a river with no end.

Chorus 1

There is a river that flows from deep within,
There is a fountain that frees the soul from sin.
Come to this water, there is a vast supply.
There is a river that never shall run dry.

2. There was a thirsty woman who was drawing from a well,
Her life was ruined and wasted, her soul was bound for hell.
Then she met the Master who told of her great sin,
And if you drink this water, you’ll never thirst again.

It was in 1969 when this song became so popular.

God’s word is a river – a fountain that flows within our very being.  God is within her, He will not fail, and He will help you. You will be blessed with the flow of the river of life and peace that has no end.
