“Seasons change. Life changes. Jesus doesn’t. That’s all we need to know.”
Change. I have never liked change. I want everything to stay consistent but I find in life that is not what happens. I was glad when I read in the Bible that Jesus does not change. As a child in the little country church we attended, we would sing “Standing on the promises of Christ my King” and at that time in my life they were just words but now I cherish the words “Standing on the promises of Christ my King, Through eternal ages let his praises ring; Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing, Standing on the promises of God.…”
Following are a few verses I found and there are many more, reflecting His unchanging promises:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
“For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
“O my God,” I say, “take me not away in the midst of my days— you whose years endure throughout all generations!” Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, but you are the same, and your years have no end.
“Seasons change, Life changes, Jesus doesn’t, That’s all we need to know”. We can stand on His promises and for me, that is important.
