“After conversion our God is our joy, comfort, guide, teacher, and in every sense our light: he is light within, light around, light reflected from us, and light to be revealed to us. Note, it is not said merely that the Lord gives light, but that he is light; nor that he gives salvation, but that he is salvation; he, then, who by faith has laid hold upon God, has all covenant blessings in his possession.” (Charles Spurgeon)

Note: He is our light not gives light….He is our salvation not gives salvation…..

Mt 4:16 – the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.

Ps 62:2 – truly he is my rock & my salvation, he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

 In other words God is our hope, our glory, our joy, our peace,our companion, our guide, our teacher, our everything and he has chosen to dwell within us not in the Ark of the Covenant behind the veil in the Holy of Holies in the tabernacle. We have all the covenant blessings within us.  What do we have to do – we have to believe and have faith in the Word of God so we can live out the abundant life to which we have been called.  He IS ……our everything.
