“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.”
Psalms 37:4-5 NLT
“Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.”
Psalms 143:8
There are times when a new day arises and I arise feeling frumpy, tired, and useless. I want to crawl back in bed, pull the covers over my head, and not face the day. That was today. I know I need to focus on gratitude, thankfulness, and to change the direction of my gloom, but the effort alludes me at the time. I want to be pitiful Pearl and stay in the pit and feel sorry for myself. But in Romans 12:2 it states “be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind”. So…I start with a prayer of gratitude:
Dear God,
Thank you for your amazing power and work in our lives, thank you for your goodness and for your blessings over us. Thank you that you are able to bring hope through even the toughest of times, strengthening us for your purposes. Thank you for your great love and care. Thank you for your mercy and grace. Thank you that you are always with us and will never leave us. Thank you for your incredible sacrifice so that we might have freedom and life. Forgive us for when we don’t thank you enough, for who you are, for all that you do, for all that you’ve given. Help us to set our eyes and our hearts on you afresh. Renew our spirits, fill us with your peace and joy. We love you and we need you, this day and every day. We give you praise and thanks, for You alone are worthy!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.” Col 3:15
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Ps: 118:24
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
1st Thes 5:18
Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice!
It’s amazing how my spirit is lifted when I focus on scriptures of joy, I can feel the sun (son) is erasing all the gloom and nothingness from my soul. I am now ready to start a new day soaked in gratitude, thankfulness, and love. Because I know “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Ps 119:105.
