Just a thought by coppi

“Oftentimes we take feelings of loneliness, rejection, shame, and guilt and believe that they must be truth. Truth isn’t found in our emotions, but rather in the word of God. Our mind is the gateway to our emotions. We feel the way we do because of what we perceive and believe. If we engage in the process of renewing our mind to God’s word, our emotions will get in line with truth. You and God are one. There is nothing you or anyone else can do to change that. May the truth of Scripture guide you into a lifestyle of centering your life around the union already available to you in Christ”.  (First 15. Craig Denison 1/21/21)

I read this today and it ‘rang a bell’ in my soul.  My emotions at times take control of my being.  I feel, like Craig Denison-states, that what I am feeling is truth when it is not, but it feels that way.  Of course, those feelings are like a conundrum in me.  I want to run away and hide from the world when in essence, they are only my emotions working overtime.  I have a promise book that I keep close, and when I feel out of sorts, I will read scriptures from it which are truth.  They will help me put my emotions in check with the truth of God’s  word.  This has helped me deal with my run away emotions and put me back on the path of joy, peace, love, and happiness.  Uncalled for emotions can cause a needless ‘swamp’ of unhappiness and grief, which can be corrected by the renewing of your mind through scriptures.
