Divine grace can make the coward brave. The smoking flax can flame forth like fire on the altar when the Lord wills it. ( Charles Spurgeon)
Heb 12:2. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates & perfects our faith.
The Centurion when he came to Jesus for healing of his boy servant ….you don’t have to go to him, just speak your word & he will be healed – faith. Thomas, one of the disciples, said to the other disciples….unless I see the nail prints in his hand will I believe – sight. When I read Heb 12:2 I thought, yes, if I keep my eyes on Jesus, The champion who initiates & perfects our faith, I will not have to “muster up” faith. I am (but am working on transforming my mind) a person who thinks of having to earn before blessed, these words of Paul/Luke ministered to me. I only have to come to him with an obedient & willing heart – being totally honest & transparent with my feelings & thoughts, and give my lack or whatever to Him & let go.
He is able to take the weak & make them strong.
